| notes: | rotundifolia. kept in water indoors a month & then put in press, during which time the female spikes had developed, but the male catkins lengthened only slightly HST Jan 6 1934. Nor had the youmg leaf or buds on the other twig developed appreciably. Taken out of press 10 Feb 1934 Less than a week after another twig had been in the glass topped flower case at the museum the male catkins had opened well, & were shedding pollen, they had lengthened greatly probably owing to the warmer and ?purer air of the museum flower case HST |
