| notes: | Parentage almost undoubted. No other Orchis present exc rare incarnata (excl latifolia as a possibility). O. maculata quite absent for many miles around. This shows the same variation in leaf spots and flowers as in x O. montonii. The leaves are generally curiously recurved, narrow and folded, quite unlike either O. fuchsii and O. praetermissa generally, though O. praetermissa is comparatively too rare in this dry locality to observe well. Comparative frequency O' fuchsii hybrid O. praetermissa might be something like 1000:10:1. Focus esp lower leaves very like O. cruenta. |
