| notes: | Bambusa laydeckeri [on green tag] In 1911 I ordered from Barr's two bamboos - on arrival they proved to be both Arundinaria japonica so I preserve specimens in case of future reference (Messrs. Barr fully admitted the mistake & returned the money) but the incident shows that one has to be very careful, others might not be so honest. [Barr's Nurseries in Thornborough, Buckingham] |
