I'm having no luck sampling handwriting; after clipping samples and confirming, a further message appears requesting confirmation, but without seeming to have any tickbox or similar

I am not sure if this is working! I just tried it on sheet 382922 and found the highlighted box was out of sync with the sheet image.

Thanks for letting me know, I'll have a look at this tomorrow.

It did work with two sheets I tested, but the recent sheet images (for the BM and later Kew specimens) are transformed to a different resolution from the earlier photos - as a way to resolve the problems with the high resolution images crashing web browsers. It's possible that the handwriting tool hasn't taken that into account.
