Cairn Lochan and Caenlochan can easily be confused especially when handwritten and with spelling variations.

Cairn Lochan is a mountain peak 1215m NH9802 2km SW of Cairn Gorm, in VC94 Banffshire/VC96 Easterness boundry, and 1km from VC92 South Aberdeenshire.

Caenlochan, appearing as Caenlochan Forest around NO1875 and Caenlochan Glen NO1876, is in VC90 Angus at the head of Glen Isla.

Cairn Lochan stands about 30km NW of Caenlochan.
