notes:Mr Babington observes of this and the accompanying variety "I think they are the same species, but they do not agree well with R. salteri having rounder barren stem and decompound panicles. The numerous setae on the panicle is another difference, as R. salteri has none. The lower leaflets seem sessile & not overlapping the intermediate pair, the former point separates it from R. salteri, the latter from R. coryfolius from which also it differs by its glandular panicle. They seem nearly allied to macrophyllus & may perhaps be a new species."
