Is this referring to 'Spiranthes autumnalis, fields between Shirlet and Aldenham' collected by Potts 1903

No. I surmised that this collector - "Allen" - is unlikely to be the "Mrs Allen" whose 1850 spmn is ex herb M M Atwood so I looked in Simpson's Index and found references to the early C20th W B Allen who was a member of the Caradoc & Severn Valley Field Club and, in my opinion, is likely to be the Collector herein.

Allen and his father ran the well-known Benthall Pottery Co.

The document I linked contains a list of Field Club members which might be helpful in identifying other VC40 collectors.
