N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

July 1856 seems very early for A O Hume, if he were the collector in person. At the time he was busy in the Bengal Civil Service in Etawah, Uttar Pradesh, central north India.

This specimen is ex herb F Townsend - isn't he more likely to have been the collector? See 'handwriting samples' for a comment about Hume's initials on labels.

The handwriting on the label suggests Townsend as collector, but why the 'AH' initials? Searching specimens for Frederick Townsend and 7/1856 returns several interpretations of similar inscriptions from Scottish collections including: 'A.L.S.?', 'Albert John Hambrough', and 'A Hamburgh'!

I would definitely say collected A Hamburgh, ex herb F Townsend, herb Hume (this is quite usual for Hamburgh, who has numerous Dumfries specimens previous month)
