N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

'JH Feb 2012' suggests the collector to be 'Eyre de Crespigny or F Townsend' but the site written to look like 'Twycrofs' leads me to think it is Andrew Bloxam (who was vicar of Twycross at the time), and probably ex herb Townsend.

Searching "Twycross 1843" produces six dozen specimens, variously attributed to Bloxam, Woods and Townsend and showing a fair amount of confusion.

The handwriting on this label is similar to some of those (above) but together they haven't quite the jizz of labels unequivocally written by Bloxam (see http://herbariaunited.org/specimen/334535/) despite sharing certain distinctive but superficial similarities (e.g. the 'long S').

I think this label is in Townsend's hand and that he was the collector - he botanised extensively in Leicestershire in 1843.

I tried that search which led to my confusion. I have changed collector to Townsend. Thanks.
