N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

There are many similar collections from early to late 1930s, mostly from around Golders Green and Finchley, often unattributed but easily recognised, where the collector seems to be GASTER.

There are two Gasters on the database: they may be related to Moses Gaster (1856 – 1939), a Romanian-born Jewish-British scholar, the Hakham of the Spanish and Portuguese congregation.
