N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

Hi Passiflora,

welcome to herb@home. You've been unlucky to have this specimen as one of your first sheets as it has very little information on it so is difficult to document.

I've made a couple of changes, I altered the taxon name back to the original default of 'Cymbalaria muralis' which is the currently accepted synonym of Linaria cymbalaria. In general, unless it's clear that the sheet is misidentified or misfiled then the default name already filled in on the form will be correct (even if it differs from the name used on the sheet). Using the current name makes it's easier for others to search for the specimen.

The location given on the sheet 'Thames Bank' is terribly vague. Although there was a Thames Bank entry on the drop-down place list it was too specific 'Thames bank above Barnes Bridge, Middlesex' - so instead it was best just to type in a new entry, leaving the county blank.

The collectors name isn't clearly written, but I take it to be 'W.M.Campbell' which probably matches the existing entry for William Macdonald Campbell.

Many sheets are far less problematic than this one.

best wishes,

Tom
