Collector: handwriting is undistinguished, but comparison with other Liverpool sheets from this month suggests possibly either E C Wallace http://herbariaunited.org/specimen/234709/ or C K Jones-Parry http://herbariaunited.org/specimen/232276/ UPDATE: handwriting on similar sheet http://herbariaunited.org/specimen/234937/ seems to exclude Wallace, who would not be living in 1955.

As this is a Liverpool Museum sheet perhaps the most likely 'Thornton' location is that at SD3342, where there is a Marsh Farm.
