There is an association with Harald Lindberg.

A SEARCH of the Kew database returns 57 records for 'Lindberg H' with dates ranging 1901-1939.

There are many printed labels and the elegant upright handwriting, seen in the University College Dublin collection, is only occasionally in evidence. The following examples are from his 1939 expedition to Cyprus.

It is clearly shown on K000327745, but on K000742102 is replaced by a tighter right sloping hand. On K000808442 both styles appear together. The Edinburgh herbarium boast a similar label - E00344256.

We can, at least, be sure of what Lindberg's signate looked like as it is reproduced in "Harald Lindberg - a Finnish botanist" (Väre, H. (2010) Memoranda Soc. Fauna Flora Fennica 86:1-27) - and it is clearly right-sloping:



Perhaps all we can say about the upright style is that it is 'from the school of H. Lindberg', possibly an associate on certain expeditions.
