Given that I can't view a jpeg, how about 'in pascuis inundatis prope Tenby Aug 1890' - though I'm sure I got the date wrong. Pencil note at bottom right seems to be 'Tenby'. If date can be read, that might be enough to find the collector - I see 3 pre-1850 specimens from there

Thanks. I considered Tenby but there seem to be too many letters. What at first look like numbers may be curls on letters! Below is an image of the label:

"Mentha origanifolia (Host) [= M. arvensis] in pascuis inundatis prope Pembury, Sussex". Signature illegible (so far).

Pembury is in Kent (TQ6241) but sufficiently close to the border with Sussex for "prope Pembury" perhaps to explain the apparent discrepancy.
