I couldn't find 'Alpton-on-Severn' or similar. Day collected this species same month, but on R Teme. Surely can't be an error for Upton on Severn?

I think this really is Upton. Day had the habit of starting his letter 'U' with a curl, see sheet 376314, and this is just an extreme case.
