N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

Initially documented as 'Bushy Park' in Ireland, but this was found at Bushy Place, in the orchard of William Skrimshire (1766-1829), a surgeon of Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, see Walsonia 23: 23-38 (2000).

More fascination, from Watsonia 23: 23-38 (2000) [pdf]:

William Skrimshire (1766-1829) surgeon and botanist, of Bushy Place Wisbech, had a sister Elizabeth, who married Charles Metcalfe. Their daughter "my niece Eliz. Metcalfe" sent specimens to William shortly before her early death in 1824, aged 22.

In h@h specimens collected by 'Elizabeth Metcalfe' appear to be in two groups: 1817-1821, and 1835-1864. To my eye the style of the writing differs from the early to the later group. Does this imply that we have collections from both Elizabeths, the early ones being the daughter's, and the later the mother's? Compare the word 'Norfolk' on sheet 378510 1920, and sheet 370419 1939!

In a history of Wisbech, 1827, it is recorded that William's father, also William, has a memorial next to that of the younger Elizabeth in the town chancel of the church (see HERE)!
