N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

I couldn't read site or date. Druce collected from Harwell Berks in 7/1928, but this looks nothing like his inscriptions on those

Karl Ronniger 1871-1954

Swiss accountant and amateur botanist who was particularly interested in the genus Thymus.

Born in Gmunden, his father was the manager of a publishing house and a member of the Zoologisch-Botanische Gesellschaft.

Educated in Vienna, he worked for the National Financial Directorate and was later employed by the Ministry of Finance.

'Inherited' a love of plants from his father, he was an enthusiastic and careful collector; he developed a herbarium of 60,000 from the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the Mediterranean and the Balkans. Particularly knowledgeable on Thymus species, with the most complete collection of this genus.

Chris Liffen has deciphered this as 'Harris Scotland' and this is backed up by a Druce article referring to just such a specimen, in the 'Gardeners Chronicle' 1929 p 273; interesting that h@h at present has no other Druce specimens from Outer Hebrides
