Samuel Goodenough was Bishop of Carlisle so could be referred to as 'Dr Goodenough DD', and certainly knew William Curtis of Curtis's Botanical Magazine, who acknowledged his support in Volume 54.

Goodenough (FRS, FLS) was, with Thomas Marsham (entomologist) and Sir James Edward Smith - a founder of the Linnean (early treasurer) - known for his work on Carices and British Fuci .
