04/03/2015xmhcmanDeleted note: It is unclear whether Hume or Linton collected this specimen. Linton's name has been written at the top of the label with "Fide" beside it, but appears to been crossed through at the bottom of the label as the collector and Hume's initials inserted over it. The written description of the precise location is difficult to read and the interpretation is a best guess.

N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

In this context I think fide implies 'identified by' - someone other than the collector.

Hume was in Eynsford that day.
