N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

I cannot decipher Griffith's initials. Locality looks like Silurwrn Woods. I cannot find such a place. A Welsh name?

Siliwen Woods, Bangor. (to the northeast of the Town Centre, on the edge of the Menai Strait). SH5773

I had a look at J E Griffith's collections and am surprised at the number that have been designated "Bangor - ambiguous locality". The man lived in Bangor, Caernarvonshire.

Another reason for more mini biographies of the collectors.
Best

Thnaks for the information. I have updated the record. The look-up index noted Silwen not Siliwen woods. So I have used the look-up index spelling.

I've updated the spelling on the lookup-list (as the common spelling appears to be Siliwen)

Thanks, I've changed the records to Caernarvonshire.

Yes, thanks for all your work on these Smile. I need to make them more accessible.
