Specimen may be French - and Bentham has sheets of 2 other cultivated species same year also appearing French, from Esprit Requien (1788–1851).

Alire Raffeneau Delile, French botanist, 23/1/1778-5/7/1850. In 1819 suceeded De Candolle as professor of botany to the faculty of medicine at Montpellier, and 1832 became director of the botanical garden there.
