I read "aquat crispa North. Maii odore"

That would be rendered "[Mentha] aquatica [var.] crispa North. fragrant in May"

"North" might in fact be "Benth" which would make perfect sense nomenclaturally - var. crispa Bentham, i.e. Curly Water Mint.
