Hi Snowbunting,

Thanks for posting a query about this. Alfred Wilmott sometimes used an eccentric format for dates, encoding them in the sheet number:
430616A => 16th June 1943

(I'm not sure what the 'A' represents, possibly just an alphabetic series of specimens collected on the same date)
