The 1840 specimen is clearly marked "N. Queensferry" which is Vc85, Fife, and consistent with the location for this species where it is now extinct. This sheet appears twice. The specimen held in Perth collected by J. H. Balfour is curious and I will visit the herbarium to find out if the label may be genuine or an error. If I find out anything useful I will post another message. The specimen for Kircudbrightshire Vc 73, collected by J. H. Balfour may be attributed to the wrong vice-county. The only location on the label is "Galloway", which covers a very wide area, and unless there is good authority to support its location within Vc73, the specimen may be better attributed to Vc74, where it is still known from the Mull of Galloway.
