N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

Well, this is either a First VCR for Middlesex for Carex vulpina or a spmn of C. otrubae or maybe Finchley Road somewhere else.

Could this be a specimen of W Thiselton Dyer, as per http://herbariaunited.org/specimen/213567/
- or possibly by J Cherry who lived in Hackney as per the specimen on right of sheet. Dyer's handwriting is similar

The Online Atlas of the British and Irish Flora states -
In Britain [Carex vulpina] was not recognised as distinct from C. otrubae until 1939, and its full distribution may still be masked by confusion between the two. Unconfirmed reports of C. vulpina should therefore be treated with caution, examination of utricles microscopically (Stace 1991) being desirable for correct identification. Most sites for C. vulpina are in Kent, but it also occurs in Sussex, Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, and perhaps still survives in South Yorkshire. ..... A review of the status of C. vulpina in Britain is urgently required.

I think the specimens on this sheet (except, perhaps, Baker's) should be examined critically and are probably referable to C. otrubae.
