There's a reference to a collection by Syme from 'Guillen Ponds', Haddington in The J. of Bot. British and Foreign vol. 28, see www.archive.org/stream/journalofbotanyb28trim/journalofbotanyb28trim_djvu.txt

I suspect the modern version is Gullane (there are various genealogical websites that seem to regard surnames Gullen and Guillen from Haddington as interchangeable.
