N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

This collector of this specimen was wrongly identified as S O Gray, presumably on the strength of the information "coll. S. O. Gray" stamped on the sheet. At the time (1838) the plant was communicated to or by the Botanical Society of Edinburgh, Gray was only 9 or10 years old!

"coll. S O Gray" must surely indicate only that a specimen formed part of Gray's collection rather than a statement that Gray collected it.
