N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

H P might suggest Horace Pearce, and looking at some of his sheets the writing would seem to confirm this - see, for example, the sheet

a quick glance at
Dictionary of British and Irish Botanists and Horticulturists By Ray Desmond, Christine Ellwood, (p541 /2) gives his dates etc (1838 - 1900) and indicates that he was at one stage President of Worcestershire Field Club and a FLS.
It would also appear that he was involved in an exchange of letters with Darwin (about insectivorous plants?) - see http://www.darwinproject.ac.uk/darwin/search/advanced?query=author:%22Pearce%2C+Horace%22
Regards
Chris
