It looks as if WHP was unsure of the provenance of this plant (see label). This taxon has never been recorded in Northumberland, tho' there is an extinct presumed ssp of Tephroseris integrifolia recorded from vc 69.

Slightly random thought, but wonder if it is a reference to the Farne Islands which are off the coast from Alnwick ???

N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

This is certainly not from Northumberland based on the place name and the species. There are several sheets attributed to James Britten from High Wycombe (VC24) in 1867. It seems therefore that this speciemen comes either from the village of Farnborough in Berkshire (VC22) or the Large Town of Farnborough (VC23). Based on the species preference for chalk I think the Berkshire site is the mosy likely.
