N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

I don't understand how you wish to have the grid reference entered

Hi Towanda52, welcome to herb@home Smile

Mostly sheets withgrid references are straightforward to enter, but in this case grid referrence was completely malformed. The collector had missed of the map sheet code (which should have been 'TQ' and had also reversed the Northing and Easting i.e. the reference written as 749.457 should have been TQ457749) In general I'd been tempted to just add such bizarre and dubious grid refs to the notes field, rather than trying to decipher them.

A clue to what was really intended could be inferred from the approximate grid ref that the system filled in based on the placename, which was given as TQ47. You can view a map of that by clicking on the 'OS' icon next to the grid ref. I also checked using google maps that the full reference, when correctly formatted, matched the given street address - which it appears to.

Things aren't usually so complex... Sad

regards,

Tom
