N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

Can anyone pin down tha place name, please? I can't find Spreaton Crags anywhere. There is a Smeaton Pass in N.Devon but no likely looking crags. West collected on Ingleborogh in April 1878 but I can't find the crags there.

As a possibility, have a look at :

quote "The nearby Smeaton Crags and Brockadale provide ramblers and families with pleasant trips out. If you follow the path through Brockadale you arrive at Wentbridge, ....."

OS Grid reference SE515165

You've done it! Thanks very much. Pretty insignificant crags, however, all of 50m. high.
