N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

This species grows in streams, so I would discount 'Brook' as anything other than the habitat. The farm name is most likely Stonar - I find no place spelt 'Slona....' 'Streetmap' shows a Stonar School in Wilts, a Stonar Cut in Kent, and Stonard's Farm in both Essex and Suffolk (the species grows abundantly in these 2 counties). However the Stonar I seem to remember is Stonar Park or House, near Henley-on-Thames. There is something very familiar about the handwriting. My fruitless searches were not helped by no other H@H specimens having been collected on this date; and those from the date either side did not match the handwriting.

Re handwriting, see:

suggesting Worcestershire for the farm. I now recall that the Henley (Oxf) place is Stonor, not Stonar.

I think Worcestershire sounds promising, at first glance this looks like such nice neat writing, but I still can't read it ! Rolling Eyes

A number of specimens from Worcestershire, dated from c. 1880 to c.1930, are similar in that they are of provenance "donor unknown", have the taxon name underlined and state the locality and date, all in neat but somewhat constrained handwriting.

The timespan suggests a curator dealing with specimens collected during the previous half-century by more than one person.

Perhaps one of those collectors was Langley Kitching - see http://herbariaunited.org/specimen/259821/
