N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

Chris, David any comments? would I be correct in placeing this as Great Doward Herefordshire VC 36 even though not in the same hand and a ? following.
Also am I correct in my interpretation of site?

The description doesn't sit happily with the Doward. I would suggest Sellack or King's Caple.

David
As there is no collector on the sheet I guess the site will remain unknown?
Chris.

The writing would appear to be Ley's. Ley returned to Sellack in 1885 when his father was ill; he then became Vicar of Sellack and Kings Caple - till 1908, so lots of specimens /sheets are from that immediate area. There is an interesting biography of Augustin Ley to be found

fwiw: A quarry and school (as referred to on the sheet) can be seen on the current OS map of the area.

OS Grid reference SO565285

Yes would the quarry etc be a sound enough reason to confirm place?

I think that I might be tempted to add a note (on the form) saying that the likely location was Sellack, but ......
