N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

It's our old friend M.A.B. who has written "from nr. Clutterbuck, Herts". It would make more sense if it were "Mr" Clutterbuck, as I cannot find Clutterbuck as a placename; Clutterbuck is a (mainly Gloucestershire) surname but Robert Clutterbuck (1772-1831) was a Hertfordshire county historian and topographer. It's worth searching for Clutterbuck as a placename in Herts or Beds.

Gentiana pneumonanthe is not now (if it ever was) a Hertfordshire plant but this specimen calls to mind the 'G. pneumonanthe' found near Wendover in 1875, identified as G. ciliata but ignored until G. ciliata was refound there 100 years later!
