N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

might be Puxton

OS Grid reference ST406633

You can sometimes get better suggestions from the dropdown list of placenames by putting in a wildcard ('*') for parts of the name which are hard to read. I tried entering

P*ton (with the county set to VC6) which gave suggestions:

Paulton VC6 North Somerset
Pilton VC6 North Somerset
Priston VC6 North Somerset
Puriton VC6 North Somerset
Puxton VC6 North Somerset

Thanks Tom - Re "Puriton": I'm pretty certain this is what HST put down for the specimen recorded from "Priston"....

http://herbariaunited.org/specimen/257579/

On its label it also has "scars" which are on the N. bank of the Gt Sedgemoore drain at ST320407.... I'll amend it accordngly...

As for this one guess he made a transcription error it was optional back then so gone for Priston as still no sign of a Preston in VC 6, amended. Thanks. Mike d'A
