N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

The label was written by Rev J H Thompson (1811 - 1889), vicar of Cradley. He was in the area with Edwin Lees and Mr Ingram at the time. We have other specimens in HLU collected on the same day. Did it arrive in ABS via Rev W H Painter?

There are two ABS JHT specimens gathered on the Doward on 31/5/1857 (more likely a misreading of 1851): an Hieracium with only JHT's label and Melica nutans which has JHT's and an ex herb Painter label.

There are 123 ABS J.H.Thompson sheets, most of which are exherb Painter, but no other sheets collected in 1856 or from VC90.
