N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

Not sure got the collector (John B Lyall) right - no other examples, though year fits- JT Squire seems only other candidate from list??

Could it be J B[oswell] Syme although there are no other specimens from Kent in 1969? He did go there though. He seems mostly to have signed himself "J Boswell Syme", but perhaps this sheet was written by someone else. I am not convinced by the handwriting! Confused

The probable letters do look a better fit to a 'J B Symes'. But also agree the writing doesn't look like his others signatures for that year... however label on the one in Jul 1869 (No 214498 Herbarium specimen: Glyceria fluitans x notata = G. x pedicellata) has got a fainter "J B Sxxx (Partially overwritten by his normal
J Boswell signature...) that looks much more like this one: What should one do put all the likely/possible collectors in as a note with the 'best' fit in the collector's field ( I guess Symes would now be it) or leave the Col blank with the best guess(es) as a note, or simply save as partially completed ? A species now probably extinct in Kent.

This specimen is reproduced in http://www.bsbi.org.uk/Probably_extinct_Kent_plants2012.pdf
