N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

thanks for your feedback, and numerous edits to my input!
I'm a bit confused about the ex-herb section and wonder if you could help
When the specimen is a bequest I'm treating it differently to other herbarium data by putting 'from' rather than 'ex-herb'
however I notice that the final form this seems to appear as 'comm' and you're editing it to 'ex-herb'
so should I stick to that from the start?

In general please use 'ex herb', even though it may not be precisely correct.

For the sake of simplicity the choices are limited and ex herb is used for any person or organisation that is not the collector (including the various exchange clubs and societies).

regards,

Tom
