N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

Again not sure if Mudd's "beta" means an alternative id if so can't trace a C. minors only C.minuta. Any ideas?

minor is a subspecies of Catabrosa aquatica Stace, and BSBI handbook). I've been taking notice of letters a - c since your previous message re Mudd, and it appears to derive from the catalogue numbers on many of the labels. eg London Catalogue. Evidently, in the catalogues/checklists, subspp & varieties were lettered. I assume that naturally, b would be the letter most frequently written by collectors, as a would go without saying.

Yep, had had a look in the BSBI / IPNI databases to no avail but was looking for a species "minor" not subspecies... Now makes sense! Amended, regards. Mike d'A
