N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

No Monmouthshire place names that I can find match the location G?neo/rew? Any ideas/clearer reading? Confident that WHP is Purchase less so J(orF) W is J B Wood... if better idea please advise.

Ganarew - which is in vc36 but Purchas states "Monmouthshire" vc35. The convention in days before the National Grid was to give the nearest name shown on the map; Ganarew SO5216 is very close to the County boundary with Monmouthshire.

The other collector's initials look like FW and may refer to Rev F P White - see http://herbariaunited.org/specimen/289925/

Yes, both make sense ( Had found a list of Monmouthshire place names with Garn-yr-erw as the nearest & very poor match down in SO2310, so now know why Ganarew didn't appear.) thanks! Amended. Mike d'A

Curious - may be just my PC but "F P White" (or "Rev F P White") doesn't appear in the database drop downs though if manually entered it still pulls up the previous records....
