There is no evidence that this was collected by ESG whereas AL was in the area on that date. ESG was what we would now call the Viola referee.

Thanks! I had meant to change the name to Ley but then evidently failed to! I also found a sheet
http://herbariaunited.org/specimen/278442/?image , which intrigued me as I think ESG's must be the writing on a lot of dets I've seen. It shows the benefit of editing whole series of 1 species at a time, which I was for a while.
