N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

Anyone recognise the writing bottom right? Ley was busy in St Weonards on this date and too neat...

Ley was in Newlyn, Cornwall on 4/7/1882.http://herbariaunited.org/specimen/272515
I think it is his "best" writing, so I wonder if he could have got the date wrong?

Had had a quick look at that one and thought the date label looked more like 4/7/1883.... There are some dozens of Ley specimens from early Jul 83 in West Cornwall and then Scilly Isles so reckon it must be an 83 not 82 as logged so I've amended it .please reverse if disaggree... If so no other Leys from jul 82 (or rather added so far) from Cornwall so still not convinced its his writing....but can't find any like it.. ?? Mike d'A

Well-spotted! I only looked at the list, not the sheet itself and agree with your change!

I still think this is Ley's writing and he got the year wrong - it is too much of a coincidence that he was in Scilly on exactly the same date the following year!
