N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

any idea what the initials JWAA E, JGAA E or above some of the JBP specimens like this one signifies, if anything? A nk determiner?

It looks as if Phipps's determination was confirmed by "JGH" - J G Hawkes, Professor of Taxonomic Botany at Birmingham University: see http://www.independent.co.uk/news/obituaries/professor-jack-hawkes-397143.html

Yep that would fit, I'd read his H as AA, the only letters I was convinced were right! Amended, Thanks.

Tom: If so many of the other JBP specimens have had his determinations confirmed by Hawkes: Is it worth retrospectively amending them all?
