N.B. reporting of the edit history is currently fairly unclear and misleading. Most edits made to specimens appear as a pair of 'add' and 'delete' entries, which may not be together in the list. There are also often 'minor' edits, which are made automatically (rather than due to user activity), for example to merge synonym names.

Excellent, thanks - I don't suppose either of those extracts sheds light on 'Mr W E C Ripon' ?

A few (not all) specimens coll Mrs E A Lomax and ex herb W H Painter) (e.g. http://herbariaunited.org/specimen/235380/ and http://herbariaunited.org/specimen/261538/ ) have "W E C" written in pencil on the label (by Painter or a curator?), without mention of "Ripon".

Could WEC stand for Watson Exchange Club?
