* Heneage Gibbs [1802-1887] was born at Bath, [and] was a clergyman. He was also M.B. 1826 [act[ing] only 24!!?] the biograph list of Brit[ish][and] Irish Botanists 2nd ed. 1931, says he "discovered Euphorbia pilosa", but that surely was not so! He is mentioned several times in Babington's Memoir [and] journal 1897. H.S.T.

Strange Confused thanks for noting this.

Not sure why Kent & Allen (the source for most of the names in the herb@home list) haven't listed him. I've added his date of birth and death.

As Thompson notes Gibbes did not 'discover' E. pilosa, there's more information on his rediscovery of it here:
