It is doubtless as you say, I have done some from there before eg

though I think I may have mistakenly read one of them as 'cliff' not 'rigg'.

It is indeed Langbaurgh (or Lanbargh) Rigg, just north of Great Ayton (Cliff Rigg is nearby). Mudd often spelled it "Langbrough" which is how it is pronounced. Note too that "Rigg" is pronounced Ridge. Lanbargh Rigg is part of the Cleveland basaltic dyke which extends from Cockfield Fell, Co Durham, across the Tees, through Ayton and Goathland ("Heartbeat" country) to Whitby, some 60 miles. At Lanbargh it was extensively quarried for roadstone. cf. the Great Whin Sill which is the substrate of part of Hadrian's Wall.
