I find his characteristic 'J' (?) bewildering, but it must be. I have just done a sheet with the full signature June 1860 http://herbariaunited.org/sheets/BIRM/15838.jpg
and the J is not written like that; however Teignmouth (Smuggler's Lane - his favourite spot) is.
