Eleonora Armitage's mother's maiden name was Perceval, see http://rbg-web2.rbge.org.uk/bbs/Learning/Bryohistory/Bygone%20Bryologists/eleonora%20armitage.pdf
Both the Armitages and the Leys lived near Ross on Wye and I suspect Ley was acquainted with Miss Perceval, who was probably an aunt or cousin of Miss Armitage.
