The hardisk that was used for the database was on the verge of failing, causing various intermittent problems over the last few days.
I've now moved the database to a new disk which should prevent further problems. I don't think any records were lost at any point (though undoubtedly people were inconvenienced by intermittent lack of access to the website).
Please could you let me know if you spot any corrupted records - things like specimen edit histories that say 'unresolved entry' or recently created records with parts of the entry not appearing.
Just to reiterate - there has probably not been any data loss, if there has been then I can probably recover anything missing from the backups - but it would be useful for me to know about any problems as soon as possible.
