I have been trying to crop Praeger's writing and although I have been through the process, I get a message :
Please confirm that you want to attach the clipped image as a sample of handwriting.
added name: Mr_Robert_Lloyd_Praeger_ALS_4 (image id=584)
The handwriting sample has been attached, click here to view the collector or go back to crop another sample
But there is nowhere to confirm and when I look there is no sample there

sorry about the problems
After trawling through error logs to no avail and getting thoroughly perplexed I finally discovered the problem:
Because there was no date of birth or death recorded for the collector the system was erring on the side of caution and assuming that Praeger was still alive, and for privacy reasons the system is set not to display handwriting for living people...
The handwriting specimens are now displaying correctly - but I need a better solution to this problem (and also a better system for inferring which collectors are not likely to be still living).
regards,

Nice when there is a logical answer - even if it is a bother! I'll look out for that in future. thanks.
